Today I thought I would share a video with you of the coloring process of a dragon I worked on for my Fiance. I would share the whole sketching process but I can't seem to find a file with that part of the process saved. (I end up making multiple files for some pieces while I am working and, though I try not to, I sometimes mistakenly delete the original ones.) There isn't much of a story behind the illustration and I actually sketched out two different dragon heads for the whole gift. You can view the line work for both in the Line Work gallery on my 'Illustration' page. I had an extremely difficult time trying to color the other head though so, at least for now, this is the only one that is completely finished.. One thing that I love (and hate) about working digitally is how much I can play with color. While it opens up a world of possibilities for what you can do with an image, it can sometimes give you TOO many options. More times than not, I will spend far too much time tweaking or completely recoloring an image just because "it might look cool". I really am trying to keep myself in check. I do hope you enjoy the video. I am also including an image of two other different color schemes for the dragon. Stay safe and healthy!
